Welcome home 🙂
Or maybe I should ask if this feels like home for you.
Did I hear you say no?
Are you surprised by your answer?
After all, you have accomplished an overseas relocation, so the transition back home should have been a piece of cake.
How come it’s not?
- Why do you feel personally and professionally confused and depressed?
- Why do you feel that your relationships with friends and family have changed, that they don’t understand you and don’t show enough interest in you?
- Why do you miss so much your host country?
- And why all of a sudden you can’t understand your native language?
Well, in 3 words – you are probably experiencing a reverse culture shock.
A reverse culture shock is a common reaction to returning home from living abroad. It is an emotional and psychological stage of re-adjustment, and almost everything back home is not the same as you anticipated.
During the reentry process, you will come to understand that
- Home has changed
- You have changed.
- You have adapted to another culture, and now you must re-adapt.
The way you choose to re-adapt will influence your happiness and the quality of your life back home.
Because emotions tend to be sensitive during repatriation, it will undoubtedly affect your behavior, judgment capabilities, and decision-making skills.
But it doesn’t have to be like this!
Although you can’t change reality, you can certainly choose to change your perception.
I invite you to take care of yourself, be proactive and choose the gift of coaching.
Together we will
- Celebrate your repatriation and find out how it can work for you.
- Identify the experience and knowledge you have gained during relocation and how to best use it.
- Clarify your expectations of home – particularly around family, social life, and career.
- Work on reducing overwhelm and gaining clarity so you can create empowering plan to build a great life back home
- Let go of assumptions and shift your perspective so you can move forward toward new goals.
- Overcome unconscious self-limiting beliefs and act on your dreams.
And much more.
I promise you a safe place where you get my full attention, lots of curiosity, and no judgment.
